Terminology of Stamping Die
The OEM high quality stamping die is a special type of process equipment that processes materials into parts during cold stamping. Let us understand some terms of stamping dies!
1. Curling
The crimping is a stamping process in which the edge of the process member is wound into a nearly closed circle. The axis of the curled circle is linear.
2. Curling edge
The crimping edge is a stamping process in which the upper edge of the hollow member is wound into a nearly closed circle.
3. Drawing
Drawing is a stamping process in which a straight wool or process piece is curved. The curved surface is mainly formed by the extension of the material at the bottom of the punch.
4. Pull the bend
The bending is a stamping process in which the bending deformation is realized under the combined action of the pulling force and the bending moment, and the entire bending cross section is subjected to the tensile stress.
5. Bulging
The bulging is a stamping process in which the hollow member or the tubular member is expanded radially outward. Sectioning A sectioning is a type of stamping process in which a part of a forming process is divided into several parts.
6. Leveling
Leveling is a stamping process that improves the flatness of a partial or integral flat part.
7. Undulating forming
It is a stamping process that relies on the extension of the material to form a partial depression or protrusion of the process member. The change in material thickness in the undulating formation is unintentional, that is, a small change in thickness is naturally formed during the deformation process, and is not a design-specified requirement.
